Administrative Endorsement. We particularly seek applications
from those underrepresented in school administrative positions,
such as members of underrepresented minority groups and women.
For full consideration, all applications materials
must be received by May 24. Applications
received after the deadline will be considered if openings
become available within the cohort.
The following materials are required:

NOTE: If you are
already admitted to the Graduate College, please do not

"Re-entry"):
http://www.grad.uiuc.edu/forms/admission/petition_form.pdf

Form:
http://www.grad.uiuc.edu/forms/admission/reentry.pdf
- Sign the forms and obtain necessary signature
from former advisor and department.

• Official copies of all
undergraduate and graduate transcripts (Official
copies are needed of all transcripts, regardless of whether
or not you've already been admitted to the graduate college.)

requires the submission of a personal statement, minimum of
500 words)
• Personal Statement (minimum 500
words, explanation contained on departmental Personal Information
Form)
• Resume
• Three
letters of reference (References should mail
forms directly to the address listed below)
Admission to U of I graduate programs is highly competitive
and, because the cohort is limited in size, some well-qualified
applicants may not be admitted. A faculty committee will review
all applications files. Those who meet the requirements of
the Graduate College and department will completed a proctored
writing sample and will participate in on-campus interviews,
which will be used to determine which students will be admitted.
Complete information on applications criteria and processes
as available at http://www.ed.uiuc.edu/eol/admissions/about.html.
RECOMMENDATION FOR CERTIFICATION
Please note that admission to the Educational Administration
and Leadership program does not guarantee that a student will
be recommended for certification. Recommendation for administrative
certification will be determined through a separate college
department, when coursework is complete. The state of Illinois
requires two years of administrative experience before the
superintendent’s endorsement can be attained.
All supporting materials should be forwarded
(either mail or e-mail) to:

A student who is currently enrolled in college study should
not wait until the end of the semester or quarter to have
transcripts sent. If the applicant is admitted, the Office
of Admissions will request final transcripts.
Letters of reference directed to the department office should
be requested at the earliest possible time. Missing transcripts
and letters of reference are the main causes of incomplete
applications.
